Game Developement and Decisions

My thoughts and the plan for our upcoming game(s).

So, we're finally starting the opening parts of game development.

This includes a number of things, such as actually learning how to use the Unreal Engine while also getting a ton of assets together, similar to the ones you see up above. One of the hardest parts of this has, frankly, just been deciding what to focus on.

Our end goal is to make something of a pvpve "hero based" game, but we're thinking of starting with a small project first - namely project Leumen.

Project Leumen will take place within The Worldwalker Universe and follow 4-8 players as they investigate The Leumen's 13th floor. As of right now I am hoping to have both a first and third person mode, with a gameplay loop similar to that of content warning or lethal company: IE, go in, get items/objects, get out, purchase upgrades and cosmetics.

Unlike these two games, however, we will also be including actual weapons. How effective they are will depend on the entities and enemies you are facing, as each one will have special sets of rules and abilities for dealing with them. We will also be including more unique interactions and death sequences with unique animations.

This is just the start, however, as Project Leumen will hopefully be playable by the start of next year. I'll have more information soon, but one step at a time.
