The Rainbow Wrangle (New Years)

Every new years, men and women travel to the southern regions of Shaia where they engage in The Rainbow Wrangle, also sometimes called The Rainbow Rodeo.

This event takes place on the week following New Years Eve (Also called Clockwork Festival, The Night of New Starts, etc).

During the Rainbow Wrangle, great fish which make their migration at the start of the new year called Rainbow Salmon, intermingle with the Four-Eyed Spitter, another popular large fish in the region. Fishing is extremely plentiful during this time of the year because of this, and a set of popular traditions is Nude Fishing and Rod-Free Wrangling. Both of these involve directly entering the water to catch fish with your bare hands.

Rod-Free wrangling is seen as a more high-class activity while nude fishing is often done in the small countryside villages and smaller towns throughout the region. Nude fishing is, as stated, done completely naked. Rod-Free wrangling is done without tools, but specific uniforms tend to be worn to help differentiate between teams, as normally those participating in these events are doing so to win prizes. Because of this, fish and fish scales have become a popular new years symbol along The Crimson Coast.
